weapon requirements and dmg.
I was wondering from the different things i hear that the lower the req. of the wep. the more dmg. it does it this true?
If i have 16 in swords then is there a difference in dmg. between a sword with req. 8 or a sword with req. 13? or do they still do the same dmg.? |

Requirment does not matter at all, provided you meet it. A person with 14 in sword with a req. 8 sword will do the same as someone with a req. 14 sword.

But if you have a r9 sword and only have 9 att in swordsmanship, you won't do as much damage as you would with 12 att in swordsmanship. With 9 att, you average the low end of the 15-22 on a 60AL enemy, and with 12 in swords you get the upper end. this does not count for criticals, and there's always minor fluctuations in the actual damage.

In addition, the chance of a critical hit is based off of weapon mastery and the difference of levels between you and the target. |

the main reason people that put more in than the required attribute is mainly for the criticals. higher attrib= better criticals. on top of this as kale has stated if you have less than 12 then you would do less overall damage.

Here is a link to the "damage calculation" page in the wiki
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Damage_calculation That should sharpen your math skills.
